Peter has been performing and directing professionally for the past 40 years. Born in Dundee and currently based in Glasgow he has worked extensively through-out the UK, mainland Europe and the US.
Since 2017 he has prioritised his work with The Occasion, a company he originally set up in 2010 with his partner, and long-term collaborator, Catherine Gillard. Their 2018 production of ‘The Monster and Mary Shelley’ received critical acclaim and is now booked to tour further dates in Scotland and England (with support from ACE) in Autumn 2019.
Peter’s previous work includes:
- the co-founding and artistic direction of the international touring ensemble, benchtours (1990-2009); with benchtours, Peter directed and / or performed in all of their 50+ productions over 18 years
- artistic directorship (2009-16) of the Winchester based Blue Apple Theatre, establishing the company as the leading learning disability theatre company in the south-west of England
- co-founding and artistic directorship of Lung Ha (1984-86) – now firmly established as Scotland’s leading learning disability theatre company
- the development of ld projects, large-scale community performances & TIE with Edinburgh’s iconic Theatre Workshop (1986-91).
Peter’s freelance work has included numerous projects in the UK, the US & Poland.
